At Passion Fruit Partners, giving back isn’t just something we say - it’s something we do.
Every year, through our Pledge 1% commitment, we dedicate time and funds to nonprofit organisations that are creating meaningful change. Everyone on our team has worked in the nonprofit world, so our connection to these missions runs deep. It’s not just work - it’s purpose.
Every year, we take our commitment to making an impact seriously.
On the same day, across five cities in Canada, our team stepped out from behind their screens and into their communities – volunteering with organisations tackling hunger, food waste, and isolation. From sorting potatoes to building digital systems, we were proud to stand alongside them.
Here’s what happened on one impactful day:
In Toronto, the team partnered with Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organisation. Their mission is to intercept surplus food and redistribute it to people facing hunger.
Our team sorted and packed over 2,775 lbs of potatoes, helping to prep nutritious produce for community distribution. They worked shoulder to shoulder in the warehouse - lifting crates, filling boxes, and double-checking quality to ensure nothing went to waste.
It was a day full of movement, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose in helping food reach the tables where it’s needed most.
In Calgary, Cindy volunteered at the [Calgary Stampede] in support of The Magic of Christmas, a volunteer-run charity that brings holiday cheer to families, seniors, and shelters.
She spent the day selling Kinsmen Lottery tickets to enthusiastic crowds - sharing the story behind the cause and raising awareness while raising funds. Through her tireless effort and big-hearted energy, she raised $10,000 in a single day.
The funds will help fuel the buses that turn into sleighs, delivering gifts, food, and connection to those who might otherwise feel forgotten during the holidays.
In British Columbia, our team spent the day with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, which distributes healthy food to individuals and families across four cities.
It was a fast-paced, high-impact day that brought our team closer to the people we serve - and to each other.

On the East Coast, Adam volunteered solo at the Berwick Food Bank, a small but vital organisation supporting individuals and families in crisis.
With no agenda but a willingness to help, Adam quickly identified ways to streamline their work. He built a new Google Form to replace their handwritten inventory notebook, helped staff learn how to use Sheets for real-time tracking, and spent time troubleshooting their internet connection - even arranging for Bell to send a technician.
His work not only improved their efficiency, but also boosted morale, showing that someone truly cared about their day-to-day challenges.
In Winnipeg, Krislie and Rheanna partnered with Food Rescue, a smart initiative dedicated to saving food from landfill and getting it to those who need it most.
They helped collect and sort rescued food from suppliers, checking items for safety and freshness, and preparing them for redistribution. Their day was a mix of physical work and logistical coordination - making sure nothing got missed and everything was used.
It was a powerful way to engage in climate-conscious service while also supporting food-insecure communities across Manitoba.
Volunteering is one part of our promise. To deepen our commitment, we also made financial donations to each of the organisations we supported, totalling $6,250 - helping them keep doing what they do best, long after our one-day visit ended.
We’re so proud of our team - not just for showing up, but for doing it with compassion, energy, and care.
Giving back is part of our culture. It’s how we lead. And it’s how we hope to inspire others.
Here’s to more days like this with our wonderful team.
