1. What made you want to focus on working with nonprofits?
Throughout my 25-year career, I worked in commercial roles for private and public corporations. Our focus was always on generating returns for our shareholders and clients.
In 2019, I joined a non-profit board for an organization that supported ALS patients and families. Here, I learned that a dedicated group could focus on a mission that benefited people instead of simply generating a return on investment.
From that point onwards, I started exploring how to work with those types of non-profit teams.
2. How did you get started in the Salesforce ecosystem?
Trailhead just hooked me. I loved it!
As a long-time Salesforce Sales Cloud user in the for-profit sector, I’d only seen this solution through a narrow lens. Everything opened up once I started my journey on the Trail. (I’m a Double Star Ranger, thank you very much.) I loved that Salesforce would allow me to build fully functioning Playgrounds to explore and learn.
It wasn’t long before I got my first Salesforce certification and was given the opportunity to start building solutions for real clients.
3. What made you want to join the Passion Fruit team?
From the beginning at Passion Fruit, my leaders and colleagues have shown genuine kindness and passion for doing great things for non-profits. When we succeed, we lift each other up. When we face a challenge, we roll up our sleeves and support one another.
As someone joining Passion Fruit late in their career, the team welcomed my perspectives and valued my contributions as a Business Analyst.
I’m so happy that Passion Fruit and I found each other!
